MUSWELLBROOK MARKETPLACE OUR STORY OF SUCCESS

Muswellbrook Marketplace has been a long-standing centre for residents of the Upper Hunter Region, providing both big name retailers and independent stores. In 2017, Muswellbrook Shire Council purchased the popular shopping centre in order to rejuvenate the city centre and create a unique and exciting community hub.

The centre’s purchase was funded by the council’s Future Fund, an initiative aimed at giving back to the Muswellbrook community. The council is driven to rejuvenate the town’s centre and provide residents with a cosmopolitan inspired space. The centre’s proactive approach to re-invest in current assets is designed to bring customers back to the town’s centre and create a thriving community.

As a part of the council’s Town Centre Masterplan, the renovations of the Muswellbrook Marketplace will be strategically designed to coincide with the renewal of the main street. The initiative includes refreshing the centre’s exterior through a fresh coat of paint, modern interior furnishings and the recruitment of enticing new vendors. The re-connection of Muswellbrook Marketplace with its neighbouring streets aims to bring life back to the town’s centre.

The investment is solely focused on giving back to Muswellbrook and Hunter Region residents, creating a city centre the community can take pride in. Feedback and suggestions on strategies to refresh the town’s centre are warmly welcomed by Council, as they aim to create a space for the people!
